LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal has recently been described using a variety of machines. If this process is as effective as claimed, however, no hair may be left at all in a given area, removing valuable donor hairs that might be used elsewhere. This problem is compounded by the use of relatively large spot sizes in most lasers, precluding the ability to treat small grafts individually. If, on the other hand, the laser is not uniformly effective, how many hairs will actually regrow - and where will they regrow? Will they all regrow in one plug and none in another? This is not likely, but the unpredictability of laser hair removal, and large spot sizes, are current limitations of this technique.
